Rewind the Mind

Two thousand eleven was a lifetime of events crammed into three hundred and sixty five days. Full of brand new experiences, tragedies, celebrations, and major life rearrangement, this year passed rapidly with moments of prolonged lethargy. Never have I been so simultaneously busy and free, broke[n] and rich, experienced and clueless, optimistic and pessimistic. I have made friendships over the year that I will remain thankful for for years to come; been to places never previously traveled; experienced things that terrified me and things that filled me with a joy I’d never felt. Like I said, it was intense.

If one word had to sum up the past 365 days, it would be choices. Many life decisions have been thrown my way from every piece of my life and as the year ends I feel I’ve navigated through them in a way that pushes me into 2012 full of optimism, a mindset foreign to my life. 

I have lived many years that just expire with redundancy, replaying memories and experiences of those before it. If this first year of the new decade is a preview of the next nine, I cannot imagine what’s ahead.
